Power Thoughts

~POWER THOUGHT for me today as I was out walk/jogging, the music pumping in my ears stopped and all I was left with was my heavy breathing and thoughts that I should really stop because this is too hard and exercise sucks, yet I turned my music back on and got a surge of new energy....Life is like often do we get trapped in our own thoughts "how are we gonna make it", " this marriage will never survive", "I can't parent these kids on my own"' " this disease is the end of me". We must choose in those moments to put in new thoughts, crank praise and worship, meditate on Gods word, podcasts, whatever it is for you....change the voices coming in to something powerful!! You choose this day what you will listen to. I encourage you choose life and you WILL get a renewed sense of purpose and vision and a glimmer of hope in the darkness!!

The Gardener

It's that time of year again where gardeners are itching to get out there and plant, whether it's flowers or a garden, the desire is there to plant something and watch it grow.
I'm not much of a gardener myself but I've seen my mom and the diligence it takes to have something beautiful grow; clearing away all the dead stuff in the spring, planting new plants, continual water and weeding.
I saw that image of my mom working diligently and the love she has for seeing beautiful things grow when I read this verse 'The Eternal One will never leave you: He will lead you in the way that you should go.
When you feel dried up and worthless, God will nourish you and give you strength.
And you will grow like a garden lovingly tended; you will be like a spring whose water never runs out.' Isaiah 58:11
I'm sure we all have areas of our lives that feel dried up and worthless and we feel like giving up. Yet this morning I pray that you feel a fresh wave of hope rise up in you and that you will feel God's strength!
Just as a diligent gardener takes care of their garden, God promises to lovingly restore those dried up, seemingly worthless areas and give you strength. So much so that you will have nourishment to give to others, a spring whose water never runs out!!
So as you start your gardening this year, or see other people garden, I hope that you are reminded that you are worth having a loving gardener tend to the things that matter in your heart! Surrender all the dried up and worthless areas of your life to Him and watch Him turn it into something beautiful!
Love you friends!!

My Prayer Today For Those Waiting to be Moms

My heart is full being a mom and yet I am keenly aware of the feelings this day brings to many who are not. Many have hoped and prayed to be a mom and yet they wait....for you I this prayer...I pray that God opens your eyes to see the value you have within the lives of those around you ~to see what a treasure you truly are, I pray that the wounds of your heart be healed, I pray for good people to surround you with love and understanding when the path seems to difficult to handle, I pray healing for your body and I pray most of all for you to feel Gods love in such a tangible way today that you will know without a shadow of a doubt that He cares!!
'God is higher than anything and anyone, outshining everything you can see in the skies. Who can compare with God, our God, so majestically enthroned, Surveying his magnificent heavens and earth? .......He gives childless couples a family, gives them joy as the parents of children. Hallelujah!' (Psalm 113:4-9 MSG)
Love and hugs to you all!!

Beauty Beneath the Ordinary

Last night as I was at a friend's place her daughter came running up to me brimming with excitement to show me a treasure she had found outside.
She showed me a rock that was broken in two pieces, now on the outside the rock was very ordinary gray nothing really special looking about it, yet when she showed me the inside it was beautiful, many different colours and sparkle...amazing.
In that instance I knew why she had shown me the rock. I asked her "What does this remind you of?"
She stared at me and I proceeded "It's like the people we see all around us, they may look ordinary on the outside but inside is some beautiful sparkle if we get to know them. And who adds the most important sparkle to every person?" I asked.
She looked at me with her big blue eyes and whispered 'Jesus'.
"Exactly right." I responded.
She smiled at me and off she went to show all the others the beautiful treasure she had found.
I actually had to blink away the tears.
Every day we have the opportunity to find hidden treasure, this doesn't mean we need to go scouring our neighbourhood for rocks and cracking them open but rather it takes us opening our hearts and lives to those around us. Taking the time to get to know that person you may have been avoiding, try to see your child as God created them~see past the struggle, find beauty in a marriage that may seem dull, ask that coworker for lunch that seems to have been feeling down lately....every where we look is hidden treasure.
Will you join me in taking some extra time today to find it?!
Love you friends!! Have a great weekend!!
