Christians Can Be The Worst Sometimes

Regularly we see posts on Facebook outing someones belief systems showing them to be wrong, outing the way another believes and what they believe.
If Christians are too busy arguing over matters of interpretation who is out there doing what we are meant to do...seek and save that which WAS LOST!
Let me encourage you with a few verses on this topic from Romans..
'Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don't see things the way you do. And don't jump all over them every time they do or say something you don't agree with - even when it seems they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department. Remember they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently.'
'If there are corrections to be made...God can handle that without your help.'....
'It's God we are answerable to- all the way from life to death and everything in between-not each other.'
'So let's agree to use all our energy in getting along with each other. Help others with encouraging words; don't drag them down by finding fault.'
So how about we rally around each other and support one another in LOVE rather than point out what we think the failings are of how another person believes?!
Imagine the army of God we could be!!
Love you friends!!

The Power of the Tongue

Have you ever been hurt by gossip....it really digs and puts hurt way down deep doesn't it? I have been the victim of gossip and to be perfectly honest I have been guilty of speaking gossip as well.
This verse is a great reminder to me to be aware of my words .'The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love to talk will have to eat their own words'...whether in print or verbal we are speaking either speaking life or we are speaking death. Death to friendships, death to marriages..etc.
Here are a few great quotes on the topic...

When we are taking about something with someone who isn't a part of the problem or part of the solution we are probably gossiping. Rick Warren

Everything you say must be true but everything that's true does not need to be said !! Is it helpful or is it hurtful? Craig Groeschel

If people are gossiping to you, chances are they are gossiping about you as well!!

Lord remind us today of the words we speak and even though it may be socially acceptable to talk about others we know you have called us to more, to speak kindness and love, to lift others up and not to use words that cause hurt or pain to tear them down. Help us be aware of our words and conversations today!
Amen

Worship Is What??

Dictionary has a definition in part of it being adoration, devotion, praise, thanksgiving, respect, honour, and esteem.

So today as I was reading I came across this 'God takes particular pleasure in acts of worship- a different kind of sacrifice- that take place in the kitchen and workplace and on the streets'

So if we take that verse and then the definition and put them together here is what I get...

God sees you when you are devoted to your family preparing meals, making sure your family is fed, changing diapers and doing laundry.

God sees you when you when you respect your co-workers and use integrity in the board room.

God sees you when you offer encouragement to the grocery clerk, when you walk the streets of your every day life, wherever that is, being an encourager and esteeming others higher than yourself.

These my friends are all acts of worship unto God!!!

Don't take for granted how much God loves and appreciates the simple things as well, it's not all about how much time you are reading the Bible, how much you are praying sometimes it is the simple things that can glorify and worship your creator in a mighty way!!

I love you friends and I pray as you go about your day that your life can be a walk of adoration to the one who loves you most!!!

Pieces of Life

Let's be honest for a second, life has hard stuff, it's not clean, it gets messy. We can feel as though we are messing up more times than we succeed.
As I was reading today these verses so encouraged me and I wanted to share them with you;
'Everyone who runs toward him makes it.'
'God made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before him.'
'Stay with God! Take heart. Don't quit. I'll say it again: stay with God.'

To me it paints a perfect picture of where we can go in difficult, tough times. Times when we feel as though we have clearly messed up and times when life feels a big huge mess.
We run to him, place our pieces before him and then stick with him, he puts the pieces of our lives back together as only he can.

'Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see-how good God is. Blessed are you who run to him.'

I encourage you to trust him today with whatever you are walking through, he has some pretty amazing glue that can put the pieces of your life back together!
Keep bringing the pieces big or small he will never turn you away!!
I hope and pray you know how loved you are today!!!

Who Are You Listening To?

Yesterday I shared a story with you about not listening to the voices around you but listening to God when he is saying 'Trust me', today I want to share another story with you.
It is the story of a blind man wanting sight and he heard that Jesus was walking by with a crowd of people so he started yelling to get his attention and many tried to hush him up so he yelled louder till Jesus stopped in his tracks and called the man to him and said 'Your faith has saved you and healed you'.
Here we see it again if he had listened to the people who were trying to hush him and hadn't been persistent would he have gotten his breakthrough?!
I'm not saying we need to beg and plead with God till he hears us I don't believe that's the point of the story I believe the point if the story is that we need to be strong when people around us are telling us to hush.
Any area of breakthrough you are believing for whether it's for a broken relationship, for health, whatever it is stay strong and don't listen to the voices around you telling you to give up.
Notice Jesus said "Your faith has saved and healed you" he didn't say 'my faith'...it's not about amping up your faith till God moves it's just about having the faith period, it's not an amount, it's believing HE can. How did this man know Jesus could? Because he heard the stories of how he healed many many others, same can be true for us, spend time getting to know Jesus and you will also believe anything is possible!!
Keep on pushing through when it seems the world is screaming at you to stop!!
You are so loved!! Have an awesome day!

Trust Me

Are you facing a difficult circumstance in your life where people around you are telling you to give up or you yourself are in doubt and feel like giving up?

Let me share a little story with you...there was a father that came to Jesus seeking healing for his daughter as she was very sick and as Jesus and this father approached the mans house people where telling him it was to late the daughter was dead to which Jesus replied "Don't listen to them, trust me."

Jesus then proceeded to walk into the little girls room took her hand and told her to get up and she did.

I really believe Jesus is telling you the same thing today "Don't listen to them, trust me" and you know what the cool thing is the father didn't speak the child back to life, Jesus did.

He wants to do the same for you, he wants to speak life back into the area that is without hope, the area that seems lost, all it takes is inviting him into your home, your life and he will do what only he can do!!

Don't listen to the crowds, listen to the voice that is telling you 'Trust me'.

With Gods help you have the power and the strength to face anything!!

Love you friends!!

What's Next?

Do you have a kid that asks you everyday what is coming up tomorrow?

I do, my Noah asks faithfully everyday "What are we doing tomorrow?" And everyday I answer as best I can, somedays it's not that exciting and other days something exciting is going on.

Did you know that we are to approach God in the same way as my son does with me everyday?

My son isn't afraid to come to me, he doesn't 'clean' himself up before he comes to me, he doesn't cower in the corner and wait for me to look his way before he asks, no way he comes to me cuddles up beside me and simply asks.

The same is true and possible with God, he wants us to come to him cuddle up beside him and to be excited for whats to come, to anticipate whats ahead while enjoying today.

I want to encourage you with a verse that I came across today and I hope it paints a picture for you as it did for me about what our relationship with God can look like.....

'The resurrection life you have received from God is not a timid, grave tending life. It's adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike "Whats next Papa?" God's Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is and we know who we are: Father and children.' Romans 8:15-16(MSG)

He wants to walk beside you each and everyday, the good times and the bad and be like a little child holding daddies hand looking up at him saying 'what next papa?' He is holding onto you, it's not you holding onto him....do you think he will ever let you go?!?

Friends you are loved I hope you feel that in some tangible way today!!

Do You Know You Are Loved?!

What would you say if you knew you were loved before you ever did anything right, before you were born, before you were conceived, in fact before there was even a thought to conceive?!

What if you were planned for such as time as this, before God even spoke "Let there be light..."

Well it's true 'Long before he laid down earths foundations, he has us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love'

'Before I shaped you in the womb I knew all about you, before you saw the light of day I had plans for you'

See here's the thing he chose you before time even began and is choosing you every single moment of every single day, he loves you so so much and he has good planned for you.

'Its in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got your hopes up he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.'

'Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It's Gods gift start to finish!'

May sound cliche but it's truth none the less Jesus loves YOU, he sees you right where you are, whatever you are going through and you are never to messed up for him, I hope you sense that in some way today wherever you are and wherever you go!!

Love you friends!!

Eph 2:7-10

Why Social Media

Why do I share my thoughts on social media?

Well like many of you I have struggled in my life, different seasons left me feeling different things; wondering if I could make it another day, concerned about my kids, walking through a difficult circumstance in marriage, feeling alone, confused about friendships, coming out of a difficult illness and many more I could list and yet during each and every one of those times WORDS helped me.

Whether it was encouraging words from somebody or something I read I've realized words are powerful and they can make a difference.

So whether you get frustrated with my posts and skip past or whether you appreciate them I do it for the one, the one who needs to be encouraged, because of all that I've been given I choose to give.

I don't and will never pretend to have all the answers but I know the one who does and that is why I will do my best to continue pointing you to the one who has helped me through it all and has never let me down, Jesus!!

Love you and hope you have an awesome week!!

Self Confidence?

~Are you constantly trying to boost your self confidence, reading self help books, self talk and many of the millions of ways that are out there? Let me encourage you with one verse that has helped me a lot....

'Forget about self-confidence; it's useless. Cultivate God confidence.' 1 Corinthians 10:12 (MSG)

Simple but profound truth, when trying to boost ourselves in our own confidence we can easily fall short.

How do we develop confidence in those close to us? We get to know them, spend time with them...same with Jesus when we spend time with him and get to know him we develop a relationship with our creator and he can become the boost we need. We can walk in confidence knowing he will never leave us, never forget about us and has amazing hope and plans for us if only we develop our confidence in him!!
That is God confidence!!
Just talk to him today as you would your best friend, he is listening and would love a relationship with YOU!!

Love you friends!

One of Those Days

I was having a rough day altogether and I had made a not-so-master chef combo of shake n bake chicken and alphaghetti for supper. Already feeling frustrated with my day, lack of energy and ideas in the cooking department I guess I was feeling rather down on myself and using words to let everyone know what was going on in my mind when my 12 year old daughter speaks up...

"Mom you are really mean to yourself, and don't tell me it's one of 'those' days, you choose your attitude"

Ouch.

Yep there I was being schooled by my 12 year old and she was totally right.

No one complained about the meal in fact they enjoyed it and yet I used my words to defeat myself.
Sometimes God uses people to remind us of what he has been trying to tell is for so long this time I believe he was speaking through my child and it reminded me of the verse that reads 'Life and death is in the power of the tongue' was I speaking life to myself by putting myself down? No way that was death, using my mouth as a weapon against myself. The message was clear, stop putting yourself down, your worth comes from me, God your father, not in how you feel or even what you cook for dinner. If you put yourself down you are putting down what God himself created for good.

That brings to light attitude, my daughter was so right we walk through everyday choosing how we will act and react to what is going on around us and if we constantly wait for all our circumstances to line up properly to have a good attitude it won't happen. Can't blame pms, circumstances or anything else I gotta choose my attitude and I chose wrong yesterday and I'm glad my daughter was bold enough to remind me!

I'm so thankful for a God that loves me and all my glaring imperfections, he is so faithful that when I bring my junk to him only he can make something beautiful out of the mess!!!

Be encouraged He can do the same for you!!

Lord I need your strength today for whatever lies ahead and thank you for the ability to choose a good attitude. Help me to speak life wherever I go and be a shining light of your love!! I love you Jesus ! Amen

The Power of Today

Do you ever get so overwhelmed by everything that needs to get done today that you are already looking forward to going to bed tonight and anticipate tomorrow??? That's so me today!!

So interesting as I was reading this morning I came across the verse that reads 'Give your ENTIRE attention to what God is doing right now and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow.' Matt 6:34 (MSG)

Just a gentle reminder for me to enjoy TODAY, there will never be another day quite like it and God has placed specialness in today for us all to discover!!

Lord whatever we are going through today I pray that you open our eyes to the wonder of today and help us to walk through this day knowing you are with us every step of the way!!

Real Strength

'Your strength will come from settling down in complete dependence on me" Isaiah 30:16

I see myself trying to get to a settled place in my life by attempting to fix everything. Just as I think 'I've got this' something else distracts me and I position myself to get to fixing the problem when a strong hand is on my shoulder as if to say...
'You've tried to fix all these problems on your own long enough, trust me you need my strength. You have been independent to long, will you depend on me? Together with my strength we can face anything but you gotta trust me!'

Friends I don't know where you are at or what you are facing today but one thing I do know is that you were never meant to walk this road alone.

Independence is praised in today's day but dependence on your creator is the way it was always meant to be!

He truly loves you, he sees you right where you are and wants to help you wherever you are at!!

I hope you feel and know his love TODAY!

Have a great weekend!!
