We've Got a Flood...

On my way to work today and on the way home I took these pictures. We are experiencing flooding in the area due to the River flooding from melting snow and ice jams. Some houses are being destroyed, some are being protected by sandbags. Thankfully we are just out of reach of the flood and are not experiencing any difficulties. Our only inconvenience is that we will now have to drive 20-30mins extra in the morning to go to work, which is not bad considering there are a lot of people experiencing the stress of protecting their homes.
These are all taken along a highway outside of our town, even though it may look like a day at the lake it isn't this is all farm land....

What a crazy sight! It's been two springs since we've experienced floods. I certainly remember those sandbagging days.

those are great photos of a bad situation. there is a ton of water. my sister who lives 30 minutes south of those pictures had to move out yesterday. thankfully they have a dyke. praying though that it is holds water out and is high enough...talk about stress!
amazing really!
