Happy 8th Birthday to my Ezinator

I love you big huge much!!
Every year on my kids birthdays they get a date with mom. I pull them out of school and we hang out for the day they choose what they want to do and we do it together whatever it may be.

So today for Ezra's birthday we went out shopping to spend some of his birthday money he made really good choices of a lego set and two ps2 games one was used only $2.00 -good shopper he is AND he still has money left over. This is the part that really got me, he insisted on buying his sister a little something, I told him he didn't have to and that money was his to spend on whatever he wanted or save it but these were his words ' I want to buy Kez something and I know that she will like this' as he was holding u
p a high school musical necklace with the letter T for Troy. My heart melted what a tender moment for me, these are the two kids that if anyone in the house is fighting it is those two, thank God for these moments where the light comes shining in so brightly and hope is renewed, I SO needed that and I think every mother needs those kinds of moments to continue!
Then after shopping and lunch at A&W we went to see the first showing of Narnia:Prince Caspian based on the novel by CS Lewis. I LOVED the first movie and this one did NOT disappoint it was powerful and spoke to me personally on so many different levels the biblical parallels shine and there are moments where I cried, where I was extremely tense and moments of happiness and laughter all the makings of a GREAT movie! SO if you are a fan GO see it and if you haven't seen the first one I urge you to see it and it is a must before you go see this one!!
(I must also add, the actor playing the role of Prince Caspian is EXTREMELY easy on the eyes, I may have mentioned that a time or two to Ezra and he patted me on the head and said ' You have daddy and he is handsome too'..gotta love that kid)

Now back at home to enjoy the evening!
Bless you all!
Have a fabulous weekend!! A LONG one for those North of the border!!!

And SO it begins.......
My slow and steady descent into an entirely new realm of time wasting activities. This week we gave the kids a PS2 and Rock Band, well the PS2 came with the game Singstar, and well inside I had this inner popstar crying to come out and it reared its outta tune, not so hot head this week. Let me tell you a little secret -the kids leave for school and me and my popstar personality become rather well acquainted. This game also as a feature where , listen to RECORDS you singing what better way to hear how absolutely wonderfully horrible I am than to listen to myself..oh yes another crowning moment in my life-A 30 something housewife being sucked into the gaming world and yes I will drag others down with me in fact Erin has just arrived to sing in the 90's with me!!
Thanks to Erin for sucking me further into the blackhole by buying for me the 90's Superstar edition for Mothers day!!

Oh yeah SINGSTAR here we come!!

What is YOUR perfect lunch??
Well this is mine - a salmon steak baked on a baking stone with a side of yummy steamed broccoli and sea salt and fresh ground pepper with a special dipping sauce of ranch dressing. The only thing better would be a glass of white wine to wash it all down but somehow a woman sitting alone in her house sipping white wine seems a bit desperate housewife to me...
lol. SO what is YOUR perfect lunch??...well I am off to enjoy mine..

A Day of Beauty and Fun...Lots of it

Our annual Mothers Day outing with a bit of pampering and lunch came around again. Oh what fun it is . First a stop at Starbucks for a Skinny Vanilla Latte, yum I guess it is the low-cal version of the regular, don't know with all the lingo there but whatever the case it was GOOD. Our next stop the salon/spa where Rose and Mom opted for a pedicure and Candy and I did gel nails. A first for me as Candy called me the 'nail virgin'. They are neat, my nails finally look nice and they feel kinda cool.

Then it was off to lunch at one of my favorite places. My mom ,as wild and crazy as she is, made sure we all celebrated the day out with a little bit of 'big-people juice', Candy and I opted for a blended mojito because we were missing Cuba( especially since the Cuban music was playing in the background )and my mom and Rose both had some sort of girlie fruity something or other. Well this is when the fun started and not after the drink was consumed but actually before it was consumed..oh yes. You see I have this odd habit of puckering in almost every picture I don't know if its because it is a good look for my face hides the chub or because I am just a turd but anyway this bugs my brother Sheldon to NO end and well so I HAD to take a few pics just for him and then might as well get everyone else to join in and I even got my mom to do it....oh yes the laughter of getting a 50 something otherwise pretty straight laced lady to pucker up on an alcoholic beverage is a sight to behold well look for yourself...heehee

AND well of course there was a lot of puckers and some great sis/mom shots.

Then our meals arrived and my mom says a prayer for us and I sneak a shot while she is praying but look how Candy prays I don't know what strange kind of practise she has that requires the tongue to hang out but we won't give up on her we'll keep praying for her( LOL...who is the naughty one taking the pics while someone is praying 'shame on you lisbet'(that would be me)..heehee)

Oh what a hoot these gals are. Our conversation was so diverse from belly- aching laughs to tears of shared stories and challenges in our lives. I am so blessed to have such wonderful ladies that I can call friend and family!!
After lunch we headed to the mall for some power shopping and coffee we spent time chatting, great bonding time as usual.
Thanks for the great day!
Love you all!
And LAST but not least MOM this one is JUST FOR YOU!! I love you SOOO much and I am blessed to be your daughter, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY a bit early and always know that I am thankful for you! Thanks for the day out! HUGS AND KISSES!

p.s. there might be a blackmail picture lingering out there- something to do with someone called lisbet and a fire hydrant. You'll have to ask Candy about that one...LOL!

Praise Report....
A while back I shared with you all that my dad was going through some health issues and the doctor speculated that is was colon cancer. Well today after months of waiting for his test to take place I took him in the wee hours of the morning to the hospital for his test and the results came back 100% NORMAL!!
I am SO incredibly blessed to have such and amazing man as my father and I am grateful to God for answered prayer and for this good report!
So right now I am spending the day with him at my parents place making sure that he is okay as they put him under for the test. I am just truly thrilled that we got to find out the results so quickly and that he is healthy!
