I am so excited, I am so excited....did I tell you I am excited??

Well today me and my hubby worked side by side all day to get a very important project done the point of use...what might you ask is it?? Well it is my very own scrap booking room, a rather large space(12 feet by 14 feet) where I envision spending many hours scrapbooking, wrapping Christmas gifts, crafting and who knows maybe I can put a couch in there for reading. It is in the back corner of my basement and out of the way of everything, just what I like, Conrad put in lots of lights and a tonne of counter space and I painted the whole lot. I will move in without a ceiling in place and a scrap piece of rug on the floor because I cannot wait any a kid at a candy store!!
This coming week is spring break for my kids and they are going to Granna and Papa's place from Monday to Friday as is the tradition(which they anticipate with such excitement) and well I will be holed up in my little corner of the earth trying to be creative. I haven't scrap booked in SO long it is like I miss a dear friend that has been calling me back!! So if you don't hear from me much next week I am 'busy'!! Conrad is even rigging up the satellite to hook up to my 19" TV so I won't miss my Regis in the mornings...gotta love that man(yes my man and well Regis too)!!
Have a great weekend all!!
I'll post pictures soon when my stuff is scattered everywhere and looks a bit more 'lived' in...heehee

I have reason to smile once again(not that I didn't before..anyway)

As I was wandering or I guess surfing around eBay I came across the cutest line of dresses for little girls, they had buy it now prices and make an offer buttons so I did just that and made an offer on two dresses for Keziah one for this summer and one for next Easter/summer(too cute to pass up)-Great price I might add- They have a small built in crinoline. They had SO many to choose from and I wanted a bunch but had to narrow it down( for Here is the web link for her site. Stephanie's Boutique
Here they are. The black/white and pink one is for this summer(6x), the pink a
nd multi polka dot one for next summer(8). What 6 1/2 year old wouldn't love these, they have dresses for all ages from 12months to size14 it! again great prices!

This dress was another temptation but I had to stop somewhere, now I know where to find a cute dress when Kez needs one OR maybe I can buy them as gifts.mmmmm, the wheels are turning!!!...

WHAT did you just say??

Ever have one of those moments when you are in your own little world when suddenly words being spoken around you 'wake' you up and you repeat the words in your head and then it dawns on you and you say' WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?' okay this can't be done when you are over hearing a conversation of complete strangers in public but this can be done when it is one of your kids.

This happened to me the other day as Keziah was getting ready to get into the hot tub and is wearing a bikini and I am sitting nearby reading a book and then I overhear her saying " I am fat, yup look at me I am fat" at this point my heads jerks up and I almost yell 'WHAT DID YOU SAY??' and she looks at me all guilty and then I proceed to give her the 'lecture'...that she is NOT fat and that is not nice to say and God made her beautiful and you are only SIX years old what are you talking about etc. etc. I think I scared that out of her ( for now).

Then comes the guilt I feel, how often has she maybe overheard me on a bad day standing in front of the mirror saying 'man am I ever fat, look at those ugly legs and tummy etc etc' I know I have come a long way since I used to put myself down ALL the time and now I am very careful about when I say stuff to make sure it isn't around the kids but I wonder how does God feel when He hears me say that. After all He is the one who created me and Loves me no matter what I may look like. The anger and frustration I felt when I heard my girlie say that ,hurt me and how much MORE does my Father in heaven care about me than I do for my own child. Words are so powerful spoken in anger, frustration, pain or even happiness they are just as powerful every time and remembered by little ears to be pulled out of the memory bank at anytime and then turned inward.

I also know that girls are feeling the pressure younger and younger to conform to a certain image of beauty and I have heard other girls her age make comments like that....SERIOUSLY what is happening to our little girls, can't we just let them be little girls? I guess we have to lead by example and if that is all they hear us obsess about then maybe they feel they have to do the same.......yikes!

Anyway..I will continually become more aware of the words coming out of my mouth because once they are out they are hard to get back!! What is that saying again "Speak out of anger and you'll make the best speech you'll ever regret!" I guess that goes for frustration and disappointment too!

Someone is getting ready for a date........

(okay she is way to much of a poser...LOL I didn't even show her those moves)

Conrad and Kez went to see the ballet Sleeping Beauty at the Concert Hall. Conrad used to play piano for this ballet company and thought it would be neat to take Keziah to see the ballet. Kezy loved it although she did think it was long and ended up being lulled to sleep in the last twenty minutes of the show. Oh well it was a great 'date' none the less! What a great memory for her and I am so thankful for a hubby who takes the time to show his daughter how a girl needs to be treated!!
Love them both so much!!

OH BOY(s)....

Okay its has been a while since I have been up two or three times a night with a child, I know you all feel sorry for me. :0

Well last night I was up oh about four times with two different kids. First of all Noah has been having these wierd times every night almost exactly an hour after he falls asleep when he wakes up sleep walking and asks about the strangest things and is clearly in distress, yesterday he asked me how to make the snacks in his lunch box to which I replied 'you have a yogurt tube, granola bar and fruit cup all of which I buy so you don't need to make them' then the other night he was distressed about a 'ploovie' I asked him what is a ploovie? and he didn't know. He has strange sensations in his hands and only falls asleep again with ice and a pair of mittens over his hands and the ice. This happens every night and we have been to the doctor and they are sending us to a pediatric neurologist for further pray about that!

Then Ezra was up and he was hearing strange things and couldn't fall asleep so he came in our room and lay down on the floor and kept on complaining about what he was hearing and Conrad and I are trying to figure out what is up and all we came up with was that maybe because his nose was stuffed and ears maybe plugged so he was hearing the blood flow in his ears???? who knows ..I asked him if he was hearing music and maybe needed to go create a symphony at the piano like Mozart....okay so I was half asleep, who knows maybe he is a prodigy and was hearing a whole symphony in his head...I can dream right?? lol He only fell asleep at about 3am with my iPod listening to praise and worship.

So I am lacking sleep and enjoying every drop of coffee and could use and IV hook up!!! Man it has been a while since I have been up with kids, all you out there that are still getting up with your toddlers or infants I have a renewed appreciation for you...keep on going ladies!!!

Have a great day all I am off to grab another cup of Java!! Mmmmmm

A NEW do....

Those of you who know me know that my hair changes almost as often as the seasons do...well okay it does change every season, I enjoy variety and my philosophy is, its just hair it will grow back and why not change it. SO this was me LAST spring and into the summer the two tone ,blonde on top and dark on the bottom, I loved this one but it was getting over done by other people and I wanted to switch it up again so I went....
Brunette with a blue streak and then went all brunette and then brunette with faint highlights which is what I was until today...I decided I want to go lighter again and it has to be done in stages and this is stage 1, I think this is the closest I have been to my natural hair color in a long time and I quite like it, it covers a lot of gray...yup you read that right 31 and lots of gray what is up with that?? ummm could it be the 9,7 and 6 year old or the hubby??(heehee)
I may want to go lighter yet but this is me for now, until summer comes along which is of course another season and well the hair has to change right?? LOL
Have a great evening all!!
(gotta love the cheese ball smile in the middle..that would be me taking the picture myself..yes complete nerdo)

What do the above ingredients make????

A LOT of fun and some delicious Monster Cookies.
The kids had so much fun helping out.

Here are Kez and Noah cracking their first eggs, Kezy was almost scared trying to do it so no shells would go into the bowl, she was so proud of herself when she did it. Noah too, he was a bit shy about doing it since he is a bit of a perfectionist and didn't want to make a mistake....he did a great job!

This is where the real fun began, you should have seen the look on their faces when I told them to wash their hands and dig in..."what mom? our hands in there?" YUP dig in!!

Oh the gooey hands full of cookie dough squishing through the fingers!!

Here is the ' look Mom' shot, look at that sheer joy on Ezra's face...gotta love it!!
Then it was time for the fun part, I asked them to clean off their hands as much as possible and then they had a blast licking of their fingers...Noah was the only one a bit unsure, you see this kid has come a long way, he used to have to go and wash his hands in the middle of a meal because he couldn't stand them being a bit dirty. So when I told them they could lick their hands Kez and Ez dig in and loved it and Noah hummed and hawed a bit and then folded and enjoyed every lick!

( Note: no fingers went back into the dough after being

Here is the finished mixture.mmmmmmm YUM!
And NO I didn't have any, this is one of the most tempting things for me cookie dough especially with smarties and chocolate chips, 11 more days and then I can indulge!!!
And here is a pic of Kezy, I had some tunes playing while we were making the cookies and she stood up on the chair and starting singing along with her thumb as her microphone...too cute!!

AND here they are the finished product all warm and yummy! What is better than warm cookies and a glass of milk?

I had a blast with my kids, so often it is 'easier' to do things without their help because it takes so much longer and yet when I take the time to allow them to take part in the fun, the enjoyment they have and the happiness on their faces and then the pride they feel when someone has a cookie that they is ALL worth it, every spill, every mess and every single smile!!
