Celebrating Differences......
As of late I have come across many different circumstances, some my own, some a friends' where there is comparison happening. Where body types are compared as equal, where one person takes great pride in having a clean house all the time passing judgement on someone who cleans their house but isn't obsessed about it, to different opportunities one person has as opposed to someone else, where someone is eating more or less than someone else, where someone has nicer clothes than someone else, where someone has a different gift than someone else, where someone has a higher paying job than someone else...etc etc the list could go on and on....I just want to stand up and scream..STOP!!! this is enough!! Aren't we all trying to teach our children that different is okay and that we all have unique individual personalities and God created us each with our own unique abilities and gifts...and yet here are all the crazy adults in their life trying so desperately to be like "everyone" else!! I think it is time, especially women..to stand up and celebrate our differences instead of comparing ourselves with someone else or dragging someone else down to make us feel better about ourselves.....if we were all the same and all enjoyed the same things or all looked the same or ate the same etc etc life would be SO boring!! So instead of putting someone else down for the way they look or act or the way they do things find something positive in THEM and CELEBRATE !! Even though we may be working towards different things in our lives we all have something to be thankful for.....so when can this comparison thing stop!!??!! Come on ladies(and the occasional man that reads my blog) DO I HEAR AN AMEN??!!
Romans 12:6 God in his kindness gave each of us different gifts. If your gift is speaking God's word, make sure what you say agrees with the Christian faith. 7 If your gift is serving, then devote yourself to serving. If it is teaching, devote yourself to teaching. 8 If it is encouraging others, devote yourself to giving encouragement. If it is sharing, be generous. If is is leadership, lead enthusiastically. If it is helping people in need, help them cheerfully. 9 Love sincerely. Hate evil. Hold on to what is good. 10 be devoted to each other like a loving family. Excel in showing respect for each other.

To Grandpa Hugh with love.....I hope you know how incredibly important you are, how much you have touched our lives with your thoughtfulness, your calls to check up on us, your gifts, bottles of wine, ice cream treats....we have so many great memories of time and moments with you in our memory banks.

From the time when you were the first to show up after the birth of our babies and babysitting them when Ezra got angry at you and stood in the closet and pulled out all the profanity he could possibly think of at age two and you just chuckled and calmed him down.... to taking out me and the kids once a week to McDonalds and the Childrens Museum.

You have poured SO much life into us and we are so grateful. Thanks for taking the time to share with us the mistakes and heartaches of your past so that we might learn from you, thanks also for sharing all the wonderful memories of the exciting adventures you've been on....but most of all thanks for always loving us so completely and unconditionally always choosing to see the very best in us!! Thanks for always showing us completely how much potential we have and to never give up on any dreams that we may have!!

Thanks for your strength, encouragement and your big hugs!!

We love you and we are SO blessed to call you Grandpa.......never forget that!!

Love you big, huge much!!

A Great Date and a walk down memory lane.......

Yesterday was my man's birthday and we got to go out for a date! It was awesome we went to Earls and had a nice dinner and went for a stroll, then we went to Nucci's Gelatti the place where it all started, that is where we went on our very first date 10 years ago. As we were walking along with our gelatti he says 'so now that we have the gelatti out of the way.. you wanna get married and have three kids?'...too cute, who would have ever thought that 10 years ago! Then we went for a drive and went by the place that he lived when we first met....he shared this place with a two other guys it was such a huge place with so much character!!.. a neat place ...great memories there!!

Then we drove by the place where I lived when we met...i lived in that house with 4 other girls, some more great memories there! It is a good thing that our hearts can carry so many moments each one to be pulled out at different times in our lives, moments of complete joy and happiness and other times moments of heartache and pain...after all the houses are only walls and buildings the moments don't stay within those walls but rather within us!! I found myself thinking about the people now living within those walls creating new memories for themselves!!

We reminisced about old times and what a neat thing it was that we met when we did and how 10 years later we are still thrilled to be together. I consider myself SO incredibly blessed that things turned out the way that they did and that I have a fabulous man to share my life with.....I pray for many more great years to come!!

Thanks for taking the walk with me.......have a fabulous day!

Our Picnic in the Park
After church we decided to go for a picnic, I got up early and packed a lunch for us all...wraps, watermelon, carrots, pineapple and yogurt and off we went. Here is our picnic crew...Conrad and the kids with Uncle Kyle.

Ezra got his first taste of the world famous(okay maybe Canada famous) Timmies...mmm....he tried it and cringed a little and tried to convince us all that he liked it.

After lunch we decided to go for a little walk and look at all the Canadian Geese back in town for the summer
....walked a bit along the path and as our family walks always go dear Ezra likes to lag behind and check out the scenery at his own pace. We were enjoying the walk until we were swarmed with all the worms floating by us in the air dangling from the trees....I tell ya if its not minus 40 we gotta deal with worms and mosquitos.....tell me again....why do we live here??? LOL

It was a beautiful visit to the park anyway.
Loved seeing Kezy holding onto her daddy's hand....what a difference a daddy makes....it makes all the worms and bugs easier to take when you've got Daddy's hand to hold onto!!

It didn't take long and then the thought of the trampoline with water was way more exciting than than staying at a park filled with leaf eating worms.....so we headed home with the kids itching to jump into their swimsuits and enjoy the beautiful outdoors in our own back yard!!

What a great day and its only half over!!!

TODAY GOD ANSWERED A PRAYER....
Another ordinary day for me going to the big city to buy groceries to last us the next two weeks. I was walking down a the baby clothing aisle (which I never do) in Superstore when I looked up and made eye contact with someone familiar when I realized it was my absolute BEST friend from high school and lived together after highschool!!! We ran to each other with big smiles and smothered each other in hugs....This is the person that I shared everything with, she was the first one who knew I was pregnant with Noah, she was a bridesmaid in my wedding and we have shared so many memories, laughter and tears. Somewhere along the way we lost touch, I named Keziah after her and put the name Chantal as her middle name....I loved this girl so much and was so sad when we lost touch. Through the years I tried calling her parents, they moved...I looked for her online at least one a month, tried to find her at the place she used to work and when all this failed I left it to God. I said 'Lord I just want to know that she is okay and I want her to know I still care deeply about her'....today that prayer got answered. She is married, she has kids and a great husband and I was SO blessed to see her alive and well. We exchanged numbers and we've already been texting each other and we are going to meet for coffee!!
Thank you Lord!! YOU ROCK!!!

What is the common thread in all these pictures.....
that is someone who is a great friend, mother, wife, sister,daughter.... Happy 30th birthday Leesh, you are such a blessing to so many people. I love your sense of humour, your laughter, your way with words and the way you tell it like it is. I cherish our talks and the time we've spent just hangin....Never forget how much you are loved. Wishing you all the best life has to offer!....Love you!
Girls night was awesome.......lets do it again soon!
