I knew this day would come....doesn't make it any easier...
Okay so maybe the truth of the matter was that mommy just couldn't let no I saw tears in her eyes too... Most of you know and have bugged me to death about Kezy sleeping in our room...well last night she slept in her own room all by her lonesome self, I had to lay down with her for a bit, more for my own sake than hers...why is this so hard? I loved having her in our room on the floor it was a comfort knowing she was there and listening to her soft snore. Is this how its going to be with every stage of letting go?? ...good grief Louise she is still in the same house....yeah so I am a little dramatic! She still refuses to sleep on her bed, it is a loft bed so I am thinking she is just used to sleeping on the floor and maybe eventually she'll use her bed?? or we scrap the loft bed idea...oh I don't know, we'll have to wait and see if this is a sure thing or not....its been one night!!...oh oh what happens when Conrad goes out of town again, I can't sleep alone, am I setting her up for failure??? bad mom!!..well this is a start...we'll see what happens!

A Book that is making an impact in my life...

I started reading this book and I am thrilled, I am learning so much about being a better mother!! It has caused me to re-think some of the strategies I am using and have had to really pray a lot that I am not consumed with guilt in some of the ways I am dealing with my kids, all in all its been a good road so far and I am only half finished!!! Yikes....I have felt this way only about a few parenting books and this is one I will most definitely recommend from here on out!! You can find it at Tim Kimmel's website or check Blessings.

Just thought I'd share it with all you moms out there.......I think it is a must read!!!!

I joined Sognatrice over at BleedingEspresso and volunteered to be interviewed, following are the questions she sent me......

(1) Do you have a large group of close friends or just a few? Do you like it this way?
- I have a large group of close friends each with their unique individual personalities, I have a hard time having 'shallow' relationships where all we talk about is the weather...something about small talk that drives me yeah lots of close friends and I love it that way!

(2) Your teenage years: best time of your life or sheer torture?
- um I would have to say a bit of both, loved being a teen for the fact that everything is new and exciting and it feels as though there is so much discovery happening at that time and a lot naivete....but on the flip-side emotions/hormones are running wild and that is not fun going on the roller coaster of those emotions never knowing where you may end up

(3) Talking on the phone--love it or hate it? Has this attitude changed over the years?
- HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT!!! I am HORRIBLE at letting the answering machine pick up and then screening the call, that is why I have call display, my theory is that the phone is there to serve me not the other way around!! I think this attitude has changed over the years although I was not a huge phone talker as a teen I definitely talked more on the phone then than I do now, it is a rare occasion where I will call someone just to chat. I LOVE visiting with people in person but on the phone I couldn't be bothered maybe its because I like to see a persons expressions when they are talking to me and people say A LOT in their body language and you don't have that when you are on the phone!

(4) Do you consider yourself a girly-girl (defined as you wish)?
- I am definitely not a break a nail and cry type girly girl but I like to dress up,go for pedicures and show my girly side. I grew up with three brothers so I was a tomboy, playing with trucks and in the sand box. I have gotten much better at dealing with people who the extreme girly girl to be perfectly honest they drove me insane.

(5) You've just been granted your dream holiday. Where do you go, for how long, and who's coming with you?
-well okay there would be two dream holidays,

a)one would be travelling Europe alone, yup alone just me and myself exploring things on my own time table and just wandering, I think this would be a time of extreme growth because I would have to learn to be completely okay with myself, this would have to happen when my kids have all grown up and are independant and my hubby was on a golf trip with the guys...I would like to do this for at the very least a month
b)the second dream would be to the Maldives with my babe in a hut on the beach just the two of us left to our own devices...LOL :)

c) had to throw in a third....going on a girl trip to New York or LA with a BUNCH of friends and have a ball!!

WELL NOW ITS UP TO YOU ALL...if you want to join me on this interview adventure here are the rules to follow....

Here are the rules to post on your entry:

1. Leave me a comment saying "Interview me."
2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

Spring Blossoms.....

I love this season for so many reasons and one of them is the newness of what looked like a dead tree now blooming with these beautiful white flowers, that will soon bear fruit. How often do we pass by things that appear to be dead not knowing that a few short weeks or months later beautiful flowers will appear and it will bear fruit.

I think that is a promise of what God wants to do in our lives, some areas of our life seem dead and forgotten and God awakens those areas with a promise of beauty and fruit. I pray that I am always open to God's work in my life so that the beauty and fruit will show in its season!!

THE Not-SO-Long Ride Home...
After a fantastic church service( where numerous tears were shed and all of the moms were blessed with a book) we were invited for a yummy BBQ lunch to celebrate mothers day, then it was time to head home for a nap and well...only me and Noah made it home without actually falling asleep in the van...I took these pictures while I was driving...yup I am crazy!....I just don't understand how kids can sleep in any position...its just amazing. Conrad was also sleeping in the seat beside me..dang I forgot to take a pic of that...LOL! Noah is reading the Sears Wishbook from this past Christmas.....guess he didn't get everything he wanted.... I am so blessed to be the mommy of these three, you must all be wondering by now if my children own different clothing and the answer is YES but just like my mom had in the olden days these are their " church clothes".....I'll switch it up sometime soon.....LOL!!

Happy day to all you fabulous moms out there!!! There are SO many of are blessed and you have a VERY important job, never forget that!!

Happy day to my two moms, one is the one who raised me...what a job that must have been....and one who raised my wonderful hubby!! We have been so blessed to have such special, unique and strong mothers. They both have traits that I hope to have as a mother, they both have strong marriages and have each been married for over 30 years to our dads!!!...they both love the Lord deeply and have shared that love with each of us as children, they have instilled in us SO many wonderful things and they can truly stand back and look at their own children and say ' they have all turned out'.....isn't that the dream of all of us as moms that our children 'turn out'!! Thanks for all the sacrifices you have made for Conrad and me and our brothers, we are all blessed to have you in our lives!!

Beautiful Painting in the Sky
Driving home today from Noah's game I couldn't help but notice the gorgeous colors of the sky, it was the most beautiful color blue....I stopped at the side of the road to take these pics and got the boys to take notice and just expressed to them how beautiful I thought it was and told them isn't our God amazing that he can paint the sky in so many different colors!!

Umm, what is that?? are the 80's back???

Today Conrad and I went to a surprise party for his aunt and we were all supposed to dress in 80's style(key word supposed) so um yeah to my very own surprise when we arrived I was one of only about ohh ... 5 others dressed up and WAY over the top....go big or go home right?? Well go BIG I did, my hair anyway!!! LOL SO thankful the 80's are done I now know why there is a hole in the ozone, it is solely the fault of the 80's and ALL the hairspray!! Don't laugh too hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd like to say a big thank you to all my stylists(2) who took the time out of their busy schedules to make this look happen!!! you know who you are....I of course won't mention you by name because I wouldn't want to affect any future business you might be wanting or expecting....LOL!!!

A New Dawn....A New Day

Yesterday I had the privilege of spending the day with three very important people in my life, my mom, my sis-in-law Rose and my sis-in-law Candy, we spent the morning getting pampered at Giselles with pedicures....we had a great time, the poor people doing our pedi's must have thought we were completely nutts...well I guess I can admit that we are all on the crazy side...we had a fabulous time and I am very proud of Candy who was terrified( can you imagine being terrified of something so wonderful)of getting a pedicure, she had one bad experience and that was the last of her pedi's but she was a trooper and made it through the whole thing...way to go Candyballs!!!
After we were all finished we headed to Moxie's for lunch....mmmmmmm..good! Besides my meal being a little burnt and then waiting for the replacement meal to come the conversation was amazing. I saw a side of my mom I don't think I have ever seen before or maybe I have but I was too selfish to notice, she totally opened up at the meal, I will share that my mom and I have not always gotten along, we have shared times of distance and anger and resentment but there have also been good times. My mom is a woman of amazing strength and I always knew that but I guess never to the extent of what she shared yesterday, being raised in a home where MUCH was expected of her at a VERY young age and having no real relationship with her parents she vowed to raise her children differently, she shared her hurt and frustration and anger and as the tears spilled onto the table I realised that my mom is very human, even though in my eyes she has appeared to be super human at times, I saw a side of her that was childlike and vulnerable just wanting to show others love and be loved in return, I see how my selfishness of seeing her as controlling and getting in my face on certain issues is just her way of being super involved in my life because that is something she never had. God has done amazing things in her life, she moved half way across the world from her family at 17 with my dad who was 23, not really knowing anyone and when she arrived she found out they were pregnant and didn't even know what that really was all about because no one had ever taken the time to explain this to her....and so within 3 years she had my two older brothers and me and had no close family around to support her. WOW my mom is a survivor, I am so proud of her and now that I look back all the great things she did and sacrificed for me and my brothers its amazing. I guess we all do the best we can with what we have. It was definitely a day of reflection for me realizing that its all about perspective, and that if we can get behind that persons eyes and see things through their eyes it gives us and understanding of how and why things may have happened the way they did......yeah.

It was a great day a dawning of a new day in many ways for me, I love you mom, you are an amazing woman of God and have shown me love in so many ways that I was maybe too selfish to see at most times, thanks for all you've done for me and my bros!! Rose and Candy thanks for being SOOOOOO good to my brothers, most of the time they don't deserve two awesome chicks like you( and I think they know it) LOL..seriously you are amazing people and I have the honour to call you family!! LOVE YOU!!
